We know this time of year can be exceptionally busy and expensive for families. Whether it's new uniforms, school bags or school meals, there is support available if you're worried about costs.

If you need support with uniforms, many schools offer ‘pre-loved’ uniform items, so it’s worth checking with them what's available. You can also reach out to us at [email protected] and arrange to speak with our Money Matters team. They can direct you to an organisation called Ten Little Toes for support, or we may be able to take some pressure off with our Financial Support Fund. Please be assured, all enquiries will be treated sensitively and confidentially.
If you receive certain benefits or you are finding things difficult financially, your child may be eligible for free school meals - and it’s quick and easy to check.
Children in government funded schools in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 automatically qualify
Older children may also be eligible if you receive benefits like Universal Credit, Income Support, or Child Tax Credit
Even if you don’t qualify for most benefits, your child might still be eligible - speak to your school or local authority to find out more
Eligible families may also receive extra support through the Government's Holiday Activities and Food Programme, or the Crisis and Resilience Fund.
