    Development

At the heart of Saxon Weald's development programme is a passion for providing great places to live.

    Development

    Quality of Design and Construction
Good design is the foundation for great places to live - homes that will be enjoyed and valued by residents for generations to come. At Saxon Weald we firmly believe that the only way to begin is by listening to local needs. Then we focus on assembling the right team, including architects and builders. We then add our expertise and experience in project management to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality modern homes that look good, work well and fit sympathetically into the existing landscape.

    In Partnership
Good partnerships are at the heart of what we do. We know that working well with everyone, from funding partners, local authorities and primary care trusts, to our design teams and our residents, is vital to our long-term success. From chief executives to planners, social workers to occupational therapists, we recognise that the knowledge and experience of local government and health and social care partners is fundamental to planning and developing all types of homes. This collaboration has clear benefits to residents. For example, older people assessed as having high care needs before moving into our extra care apartments are often reassessed with lower care needs when living in their new homes. Good housing can have a dramatic impact on the health and well-being of residents, whatever their age.

    Homes for older people
We build modern, comfortable apartments that are easy to maintain and inexpensive to run - a liberating alternative to the old family home. Years of experience in this sector means that our new homes set the highest standards in terms of design and build quality, innovation, safety and comfort. Properties range from those suitable for active older people who simply want the security of living in a welcoming community environment to our extra care apartments for older people who need help and support with day-to-day living.

    Homes in rural areas
We're lucky enough to work in a beautiful area of south east England. Our pretty villages and rolling landscape are popular places to live with city commuters and second home owners, which pushes up the price of rural property and makes it unaffordable for many whose families have always lived here.

Saxon Weald's affordable rural housing programme is helping to sustain community life, enabling people to remain in their neighbourhoods. Building new homes in the countryside will always be a controversial issue. It's one we deal with by listening to residents and taking their concerns into consideration. We build in sympathy with the vernacular style and make use of local materials when we can. Whenever possible we build on existing sites, minimising the impact on farm land.

If you have land that you believe could be granted planning permission as a rural exception site, or if you would like to discuss providing affordable housing in your village, please contact our development team.
