Our current Chair will be stepping down at the end of his term early next year and we are now looking to appoint a successor to take up this appointment in Spring 2021.
At Saxon Weald, we place great emphasis on providing a local housing service to fit local housing needs. We take pride in putting residents at the heart of what we do and making them part of our journey to provide better homes, housing services and communities.
We have an ambitious and aspirational vision ‘great homes, building futures’ and a vibrant and dynamic people culture. We are committed to delivering a great customer experience for the 6,750 homes we own across Sussex and Hampshire and have plans to build over 500 new, much needed, affordable homes over the next 5 years.
We’re looking for an experienced and influential leader who will bring a collaborative leadership style, an entrepreneurial spirit and offer the challenge and insight required to lead and chair a well-balanced and experienced Board. The successful applicant will bring strong strategic thinking, exceptional chairing skills and a strong commitment to ensuring good governance and transparency. This will be underpinned by significant exposure at Board level and a track record as a non-executive director, preferably within a regulated sector.
This is a highly visible role calling for drive and diplomacy in equal measure. It will suit someone who is comfortable shaping strategy and excited at developing a dynamic future for the organisation. We are interested in people who can apply their professional experience and knowledge across a broad range of business areas and respond in an agile manner to a changing world and operating environment. Your integrity, judgement and ambassadorial skills will inspire the confidence and respect of the Board, staff, customers and stakeholders.
We welcome applicants from all sectors as long as you can demonstrate an understanding of our business and the associated risks and have a proactive and enthusiastic approach, coupled with the time and commitment to make a full and effective contribution to the Board.
