Since 1 April 2026, the Government’s Household Support Fund has been replaced with the Crisis and Resilience Fund. It has been designed to help people plan ahead, find support or to help those on low incomes manage a crisis.
Depending on your eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to resilience services (such as financial/debt advice, housing information and help with employment), crisis payments or heating & oil support. You can find out more about the new fund here: https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/leisure-recreation-and-community/crisis-and-resilience-fund/
In West Sussex, if you are in an emergency situation and have less than three days’ food or medicine, you can call West Sussex Community Hub on 033 022 27980.
Otherwise, please check what support your local council can offer online by visiting: www.gov.uk/cost-living-help-local-council.
