We are delighted to share that Turpitt Court, Horsham is officially complete. Joined by members of Horsham District Council, Sunninghill Construction and the local ward council, Saxon Weald recently marked the occasion with an opening ceremony in the sunshine.
Previously known as Page Court, Turpitt Court is Saxon Weald's latest redevelopment site in Horsham. Named after our former Chair of the Board, Simon Turpitt, the site has replaced 42 outdated flats (including 17 bedsits with a single communal shower room) with 40 brand-new homes for affordable rent. This includes 28 two-bedroom flats and 12 one-bedroom flats.
The completion of this development also coincides with the building of our 2000th affordable new home since Saxon Weald was established in 2000.
Building was initially started by Westridge Construction, who supported us in providing eight brand new houses for social rent, before they unfortunately fell into administration. Works paused for several months until Sunninghill took over the final stages of development in spring 2024.
As a gift to our new residents, Sunninghill kindly sponsored the installation of a bee tower in the communal gardens, which is designed to create a nesting site for solitary bees.
Our sincere thanks to Sunninghill for helping us ensure the successful completion of this fantastic development, and to Horsham District Council for their ongoing support to provide more affordable homes for people in our local community.
