Get better support: a move to an extra care scheme success story

At Saxon Weald, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to be independent and make the most of their lives. Our floating support service provides the right amount of support to help you live the life you want.

Such support was recently provided for Resident A, who was referred by his scheme manager as they were concerned about possible financial problems, mental health issues and self-neglect.

After a number of chats with one of our friendly advisors, we were able to support a move to an extra care scheme, so A was able to get that extra support they needed, including lunch every day.

They also learnt cooking skills, and made friends, which the social atmosphere of an extra care scheme fosters.

The floating support team have also scheduled GP appointments and the necessary transport.  This help has been life changing for A, in appearance, personal hygiene and attitude to life.

Our free services can help in a number of different ways including managing your money, dealing with paperwork, offering housing advice or just simply putting you in touch with other organisations that can help. Remember a problem shared is a problem halved – so now is the time to talk.

So do get in touch if you think we could help. You must be a Saxon Weald resident, aged over 55 and live in the Horsham district to qualify.
