Saxon Weald is committed to ensuring that our most valuable assets - your homes are maintained through a continuous programme of home improvements.
Our 2017/18 programme of upgrades includes:
• New boilers/heating
• Kitchens and bathrooms
• Roofing projects
• New windows & doors
• Communal and external decoration/repairs to houses and blocks
Over the next couple of months we will be focussing on each of these areas and this month I decided to catch up with our Asset Management, Programme and Contracts Manager to find out how things are going.
How is the window and door programme progressing?
Things are going really well, we are on schedule to meet our replacement programme, which for the 2017/18 programme improves 96 properties.
How are residents involved in the process?
Our contractor visits them in their homes to carry out a survey and to take measurements. The contractor explains how the proposed works will be carried out and discusses style and colour options. Residents are able to pick from a range of four door styles, and a choice of four colours.
How long does the work take from start to finish?
We advise residents that window and door replacements can take up to two working days. When carrying out the works there is some disruption but our contractor will try and keep this to an absolute minimum.
What has been the feedback from residents?
We are delighted that overall satisfaction with the programme is excellent and these testimonials are typical of the resident feedback that we get after installation.
“I was extremely impressed by the team who came to fit my new windows and doors; they were extremely good at their work and were polite, courteous and punctual”
"My home seems so much warmer since we had our new energy efficient windows and doors fitted”
“We are so happy with the new windows ...”
“Really impressed with how clean and tidy everything was kept whilst job was in progress…”
Next month we will find out how the communal and external decoration/repairs to houses and blocks are going.
