Floating support service for older people

Helping you to maintain or regain your independence.

Floating support service for older people

Saxon Weald is able to offer sympathetic and practical floating support to people over 60 that live in the Horsham district who would benefit from short-term assistance with everyday living.

What is Floating Support?

Essentially it is about helping you regain or maintain your independence. It can include:

  • Helping you manage your money, pay bills or claim benefits;
  • Helping you deal with paperwork and fill out forms;
  • Assisting you in getting aids and adaptations fitted to your home;
  • Providing information about activities in your local area as well as activities we are running as part of this service and helping you to access them;
  • Looking at how to remain independent in your own home or giving housing advice;
  • Helping you to access health services;
  • Putting you in touch with other organisations or services that can help.

Do I qualify for floating support?

  • Our floating support service is available to residents of Saxon Weald (tenants,       leaseholders or shared owners) who live within the Horsham District;
  • You must be aged over 60 or 55 with a disability;
  • The service is free but can only offer short-term support, not permanent assistance.
