Saxon Weald welcomes new Chair

Date: 1 March 2021

Simon Hardwick takes over as Chair from 1 March

We're delighted to introduce Simon Hardwick as the new Chair of our Board.

Simon is a lawyer by profession, specialising in commercial property, development and construction. He was a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers until his retirement in 2015. Since then, he has held non-executive Chair and Director roles, primarily in the property and construction sectors. Simon is a keen equestrian; he was a selector for the London 2012 Olympic British Dressage team and has been awarded the British Dressage Medal of Honour for services to equestrian sport.

Simon comments: "I am delighted to join Saxon Weald and am really looking forward to helping the team build on their existing achievements. There are many challenges facing the whole housing sector but I am very confident that Saxon Weald is well placed to respond.  We will continue to work hard together to deliver great homes, provide excellent customer service and support our local communities."

Simon’s appointment follows the retirement of our previous Chair, Simon Turpitt, whose maximum time as a Board member has sadly come to an end. Simon joined Saxon Weald as a Non-Executive Director on 16 April 2012 and formally became Chair on 22 September 2014. We sincerely thank Simon for his dedication to Saxon Weald over the past nine years and wish him all the best for the future.
