Legal and General has selected Saxon Weald as one of just 14 housing associations nationwide to partner with them on their affordable homes programme.
The new network of management partners will bring local expertise and established services to support Legal and General in its ambition to deliver 3000 affordable homes a year across the country.
Saxon Weald, along with the other partners, has regulatory ratings of G1 V1, the highest possible gradings for governance and financial viability.
Steven Dennis, Chief Executive of Saxon Weald, says: “This partnership approach is an innovative solution to the UK’s housing crisis and we’re extremely proud to have been chosen by Legal and General to work with them in the South East. It’s a real testament to the quality of our services and our commitment to customers.”
Ben Denton, Managing Director, Legal & General Affordable Homes, says: “After a rigorous tender process, focusing on the quality and customer service offering of 140 UK-wide housing associations, we have now established an experienced panel of management partners. With residents already moving into our first schemes, this represents another milestone as we continue to pioneer the Institutional Registered Provider model. There is an urgent need to keep innovating in this sector and to provide quality, stable homes for the 1.1 million households on waiting lists in England.”
Initial contract agreements are for five years, and Saxon Weald looks forward to receiving the first of its partnership homes in due course.
