Nine new homes proposed for Blenheim Road, Horsham

Date: 23 October 2018

Saxon Weald is submitting a planning application to provide nine new homes for affordable rent at Blenheim Road in Horsham.

The application is based on a proposal to demolish 24 garages and replace them with a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments.

Stephen Humphreys, Saxon Weald’s Head of Development, said: “We are aware that parking is an issue around this area, as it is in many places around Horsham. However, the majority of the garages are rented to people who live more than a mile away, so it is unlikely that demolishing them will have a significant impact on local parking. As a housing association, our priority has to be providing affordable homes for people in housing need.”

A public consultation about the proposed development is taking place on Tuesday 23 October and the planning application will then be submitted in November. If the application is successful, building work will start in autumn 2019.
