Coronavirus - the danger of toilet paper substitutes

Date: 18 March 2020

The Coronavirus outbreak has prompted many people to stock up on household items such as toilet roll, leaving countless shelves in shops across the country short on supply. This means people may resort to using substitutes.

It’s essential that items such as kitchen roll, baby wipes and face wipes are not flushed down the toilet, to prevent unnecessary blockages.

Under the current circumstances, and due to the nature of the job, unblocking toilets is a high risk activity for our operatives. Please be considerate and follow this guidance to help minimise blockages as much as possible and keep you and our staff safe.
