Coronavirus - service update

Date: 11 May 2020

Please read our latest service update below, following the Prime Minister's statement on Sunday 10 May 2020.

Mr Johnson has encouraged those who cannot work from home to return to work. We believe this means our repairs team can begin to operate, but only if they can do so safely. Therefore, there is no change yet to our policy of only completing emergency repairs and gas safety checks. So please, do not contact us for non-urgent repairs.

Over the next week, we will look at what work we can safely do and whether we can access sufficient personal protective equipment. For the following two weeks, it is likely we will focus on work that can be done by one person and that is either:

  • Outside;
  • In communal areas;
  • In an empty property; or
  • Helps us meet health and safety rules

We will not be taking on new jobs of this kind, but rather catching up on those reported before the lockdown that had to be cancelled. Please do not contact us yet with new jobs as it will take us some time to get up to speed. As soon as we are able to start completing day-to-day repairs, we will let you know.

We know that many of our customers really appreciate the work our colleagues have been doing. Your kind words have been very much appreciated. We ask you to remember that they are doing their best in challenging circumstances. Thank you for your support and understanding as we work through these changes.
