Saxon Weald is committed to ensuring that our most valuable assets - your homes are maintained through a continuous programme of home improvements.
Our 2017/18 programme of upgrades includes:
• New boilers/heating
• Kitchens and bathrooms
• Roofing projects
• New windows & doors
• Communal & external decoration/repairs to houses and blocks
Over the next couple of months we will be focussing on one of these areas and this month I decided to catch up with Danny Harris, HomeFix Kitchen and Bathroom Programme Manager, to find out how things are going.
How is the programme progressing?
Things are going really well, we are on schedule to meet our replacement programme.
How are residents involved in the process?
Our residents are consulted on their replacement kitchen or bathroom. We visit them in their homes to talk through the works and their options.
They are able to pick from a range of kitchens, and are able to personalise this with a choice of handles, worktops, and tile and floor colours.
They are also able to personalise their bathrooms by picking out their choice of tile and
How long does the work take from start to finish?
We advise residents that kitchen/bathroom replacement projects can take up to 10 working days. The HomeFix team may not be in the resident’s home every day during this period, and most of our projects are completed before the scheduled end date.
Obviously when carrying out the works there is some disruption but we try and keep this to an absolute minimum.
What has been the feedback from residents?
We are delighted that overall satisfaction with the programme is 100% and these testimonials are typical of resident feedback that we get after installation.
“I was extremely impressed by the team who came to fit my kitchen; they were extremely good at their work and were polite, courteous and punctual”
"My new kitchen is amazing – I’m really happy with it...”
“I was really impressed by how much pride your operatives take in their work…”
“Really impressed with how clean and tidy everything was kept whilst job was in progress…”
Next month we will find out how the new windows & doors installations are going.
